Here's the plan for 2010 - since I have to hold down a job, making
it to these events will depend on work, particularly for those not in CO.
If you see a glaring error (like an incorrect or changed event date)
or know of a show I should definitely attend, please let me know!
May 5-10: Viva Las Vegas Vette Convention
Hosted by the Western States Corvette Council and Hot Nevada Vettes,
this event was amazing last year! The show on Fremont Street is really something special, plus there's
autocross, drag racing, and go-kart racing as well...check it out at www.corvetteconvention.com. The people of Nevada and the WSCC were very generous and supportive
in 2009 and I'm really looking forward to this one.
May 28-29: Wheelz Extravaganza, Amarillo TX
This sounds like a great show, hosted by the Amarillo Area Corvette Club at Vintage Autohaus
and Imports. Includes a roadtrip and tour through a state park with other members of the RMCSC.
Jun 18-19: American Cancer Society Relay
For Life of the Pikes Peak Region
I've joined a friend's team ("Miracle Shoes") to raise funds for
cancer research and programs. Donate to me or my team (or better yet, join us!) at:
Jun 24-27: Bloomington Gold, St. Charles, IN
So this is the big one...the largest/oldest Corvette show in the
country! It's quite a trip, so I'll visit some family on the way there and back. A big highlight - I'll
be sharing a Cancer Society booth with none other than Ben Labaree, the original co-founder of Corvettes Conquer Cancer. It'll
be sweet to meet him face to face, finally! If you're there, look for us!
Sep 4: Track Day at Pueblo Motorsports Park
Sponsored by Judy Faass of Faasst Performance Driving School, these
track days are a riot and probably the most fun you'll have in your car, ever. I wish I was around for more of
their dates, but the schedules aren't meshing too well this year. I'll definitely be on the track more days this
year and add those to the calendar as they firm up. www.faasst.com
